增材制造（3D打印）是“十五五”期间发展新质生产力的核心制造技术之一。“十四五”期间，我国增材制造产业规模从208亿元增至700亿元。商业航天已纳入国家航天发展总体布局，2027年将基本实现高质量发展。两大产业交汇催生百亿级市场：2027年商业航天3D打印市场规模预计突破150亿元，2030年有望突破300亿元，复合增长率达35%。3D打印正重塑航天制造逻辑，发动机部件制造周期从半年缩至一月，重量减轻近半。当前火箭发动机部件渗透率达75%-85%，卫星结构件为35%-50%，后者仍有较大提升空间。火箭制造占市场份额60%，卫星领域年增速超40%，为增长最快蓝海。2026年上海发布“火箭星城”规划，位于闵行区，总面积15.3平方公里，2027年将形成年产80发火箭、200颗卫星的产能，2030年产业规模达千亿级。同期启动的临沧路码头将于2027年3月底完工，打通总装、转运、海上发射全链条。上海政府对重大项目最高给予3亿元资金支持。

Conference Background

Additive manufacturing (3D printing) is one of the core manufacturing technologies for developing new productive forces during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the scale of China's additive manufacturing industry has increased from 20.8 billion yuan to 70 billion yuan. Commercial space has been incorporated into the overall layout of national aerospace development, and high-quality development is expected to be basically achieved by 2027. The convergence of these two major industries is giving birth to a market worth tens of billions: the market size of commercial space 3D printing is expected to exceed 15 billion yuan in 2027 and reach 30 billion yuan by 2030, with a compound growth rate of 35%. 3D printing is reshaping the logic of aerospace manufacturing, with the manufacturing cycle of engine components shrinking from half a year to one month and the weight being reduced by nearly half. Currently, the penetration rate of rocket engine components stands at 75%-85%, while that of satellite structural components is 35%-50%, indicating significant potential for growth. Rocket manufacturing accounts for 60% of the market share, and the satellite sector is experiencing an annual growth rate exceeding 40%, making it the fastest-growing blue ocean. In 2026, Shanghai announced the "Rocket Star City" plan, located in Minhang District, covering a total area of 15.3 square kilometers. By 2027, it will achieve an annual production capacity of 80 rockets and 200 satellites, with the industry scale reaching hundreds of billions by 2030. The Lincang Road dock, which was launched at the same time, is scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2027, connecting the entire assembly, transfer, and offshore launch chain. Shanghai government provides financial support of up to 300 million yuan for major projects.

New opportunities

To establish the first vertical docking platform for commercial space and additive manufacturing, and to promote the leap from "trial production of samples" to "mass production and installation" of 3D printing, Shanghai Liwen Exhibition Service Co., Ltd, in collaboration with relevant authorities, has scheduled the "2027 Shanghai International Commercial Space Additive Manufacturing Conference and Exhibition" at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center from March 17 to 19, 2027. This event will be held concurrently with the second edition of the Shanghai International Commercial Space Exhibition. It coincides with the completion of the Rocket City Star Port on Lincang Road and marks the golden period for purchasing decisions related to the annual budget implementation of industrial capital. Themed "Forging Star-River Tools with the Power of Additive Manufacturing," this exhibition features six major exhibition areas: equipment, materials, components, software and testing, commercial space enterprises, and Rocket City Star. It is a landmark leap for China's commercial space additive manufacturing industry, transitioning from "pan-industry coverage" to "vertical deepening." Unlike comprehensive exhibitions, this edition solely focuses on the single track of "commercial space," aiming to delve deeper, become more thorough, and excel in its field. It provides exhibitors with precise customer groups and offers aerospace enterprises one-stop technology selection and supplier docking services, thereby further enhancing the industrial ecosystem of the integrated development of commercial space and additive manufacturing in Shanghai.

Concurrent Events

This exhibition adopts a composite model of "convention + exhibition + supply and demand matching + technology roadshow". The main forum of the convention will gather academicians from both academies, technical leaders of commercial rocket companies, and technical experts from international additive manufacturing leading enterprises to conduct in-depth discussions on topics such as the development trend of global commercial space additive manufacturing, the industrialization of rocket engine 3D printing, lightweight manufacturing of satellites, and additive manufacturing in space. The sub-forums cover four vertical fields: rocket engine manufacturing, satellite structure and functional components, materials and equipment, and commercial space investment and financing. The exhibition will also feature exclusive supply and demand matching sessions, inviting leading commercial rocket and satellite enterprises to release their annual procurement lists on-site, covering core component needs such as thrust chamber inner walls, injectors, turbine disks, and integrated satellite cabin bodies. This is China's first professional exhibition focusing vertically on additive manufacturing in commercial aerospace application scenarios, and it also marks the first deep integration of two strategic emerging industries at the critical juncture when Shanghai's "Rocket City" moves from planning to production.
